Track Days

Who can attend aTrack Day?

Whether you have never driven on a track before or consider yourself a seasoned racing driver, these days are for you. As long as your car is roadworthy and has a passenger seat it can be driven on the track and these days are open to all.

Whilst the days are strictly non-competitive with no timing or racing, you will get ample time to learn, build and improve your driving skills with the help of our professional instructors. Our instructors are experienced in coaching people of all levels, from total beginners to experienced racing drivers.

Drivers will be split into four groups, dependent on experience and ability. Two groups will run in the morning from 8am – 1pm,  and two groups in the afternoon from 12:30pm – 5:30pm. Each group will have alternate 20 minute sessions of open track time, giving them 6 sessions, or 120 minutes of track time – exactly the same as full days with three driver groups.

The four driver groups are:

1. Private Groups     8am – 1pm

Reserved for private groups wishing to book track time for their drivers only

2. Advanced Group     8am – 1pm

Experienced track day or racing drivers with:

  • Race cars with passenger seats or
  • Track day cars

3. Intermediate Group     12:30pm – 5:30pm

Experienced track day drivers with:

  • Fast road registered cars

4. Beginners Group     12:30pm – 5:30pm

Inexperienced track day drivers or experienced track day drivers with:

  • Slower road registered cars.

Please indicate your driver group when booking and contact us if you need assistance in selecting the appropriate group.

How will the day be structured?

For those groups running in the morning there will be a drivers briefing at 8:00am with track activity commencing at 8:30am. A second briefing will be held for the afternoon groups at 12:30pm, with track time commencing at 1pm. Attendance at the briefing is compulsory for all drivers, any drivers who miss the briefing will not be permitted onto the track until briefed. Please therefore ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled briefing.

Professional instructors will be available throughout the day to answer your questions and provide personal in-car tuition. When your group is not on the track you are not neglected, instructors are available to answer your questions.

Observed Licence Tests (OLT)

Driving Solutions has been chosen by the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) to conduct the CAMS Observed Licence Test (OLT). The OLT can now be taken in the Advanced Group during the Eastern Creek Trackdays by selecting the OLT option on the booking form, booking is essential. Please refer to www.CAMS.com.au or call CAMS Member Services on 1300 653529 for more details on licencing.

The purpose of an OLT is to evaluate the driver’s suitability for a CAMS competition licence. Drivers will be evaluated and observed for every aspect of their performance including:

  • the ease at which they cope with driving equivalent to competition requirements
  • driver attitude and aptitude
  • power of observation
  • reaction times
  • observation of relevant rules

OLT’s can only be conducted in the Advanced Group which runs from 8am – 1pm. Please ensure that you select this group when booking in.

Advanced Driver Skills Course

For those wanting a full day experience at Eastern Creek we will also be offering half day Advanced Driver Skills Courses on the skid pan to compliment your track day. The number of drivers on each course will be strictly limited so that each driver can receive individual tuition as required. This can range from learning better car control for on track through to general practice for motorkhana events.
