Track Days

Australian Racing Drivers Club Open Track Day

Who can attend an open track day?

Whether you have never driven on a track before or consider yourself a seasoned racing driver, these days are for you. As long as your car is roadworthy and has a passenger seat it can be driven on the track and these days are open to all.

Whilst the days are strictly non-competitive with no timing or racing, you will get ample time to learn, build and improve your driving skills with the help of the Australian Racing Driver Clubs professional instructors. Our instructors are experienced in coaching people of all levels, from total beginners to experienced racing drivers.

Drivers will be split into three groups, dependent on experience and ability, with each group having their own 20 minute session of open track time each hour. There will never be more than 25 cars on the track in one session however those who take their driving a little more seriously can arrange a private session.

How will the day be structured?

The day commences at 8:30am with sign on and a safety and theory brief, then circuit activity at 9am sharp. All drivers are taken on a sighting drive of the circuit, highlighting driving lines, apexes and safety.

Professional instructors will be available throughout the day to answer your questions and provide personal in-car tuition. When your group is not on the track you are not neglected, instructors are available to answer your questions.

The last hour of the day is dedicated to open track when drivers can put everything they have learnt during the day into practice.

Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day, and water is available at all times.

What do I need to bring?

  • A roadworthy and mechanically sound car. Driving Solutions reserves the right to refuse any car access to the track if deemed unsuitable.
  • Race cars are permitted ONLY if they have a passenger seat fitted.
  • Helmets must be worn at all times when on the track. If you do not have a helmet one can be hired for the day, however, stocks are limited. Please specify that a helmet is required when booking.
  • Long sleeve shirt, closed shoes and pants must be worn by all drivers.
  • Sun block.
  • Full tank of petrol.

“Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed today at Eastern Creek. The Driving Solutions day was very professionally operated at all levels with excellent preparation for the attendees and terrific briefing sessions that struck the right note, not too long but always informative.

I must say it was a big surprise to see the calibre of the instructors. I had the honour of having F3 Champion James Winslow in my car for a few laps and his insights into my technique (or lack of it) was hugely beneficial at many levels and will no doubt assist me when I commence racing.

There would not be many drive days that have such a high standard of instructors on hand and I think this is what set today apart from other days that you can attend.

So in summary, thanks James and to all of your instructors for a wonderful and safe day…………excellent way to blow out the cobwebs and stress from the Global Financial Crisis and I would highly recommend it to anyone!”
